Emily Heinz

I hold a B.A. in graphic design from Anderson University of Anderson, SC where I learned the importance of communicating succinctly but effectively.  My method is to personalize my experience with the brand, product or service in question—to put myself in the consumer/listener's shoes. There's an aspect of make-believe in this that I hope I'll never outgrow.

My work experience has been as varied as the South Carolina seasons, which has taught me to be flexible and adaptable. After a post-college internship with OOBE (Greenville, SC), where I served as a graphic design and product photography assistant, my first full-time gig was with GetBranded, a small, local branding company which designs and prints graphic wraps for ATMs. It was here that I gained a solid understanding of production and had many opportunities to work with brand identities. Part of this position included  working under contract for the creative team at Techtronic Industries, where I worked with various power tool brands such as Ryobi, Ridgid, and Bauker. Working for a large corporation like TTI has pushed me far outside my comfort zone, but has enabled me to add point-of-purchase design, packaging layout, and concept illustration skills to my tool belt.

In 2017, I began working with BJU Press (Greenville, SC), where I am learning to be a multitask-meister while handling concept design and coordinating artwork for various projects, all within a collaborative team environment.

If you catch me outside of work, you'll likely find me chiseling away on side projects for friends and family or indulging my love of cartoons. I also enjoy weekly opportunities to use my abilities in my church community. Aside from art and design, I get my kicks from training in martial arts, trying Korean recipes, tormenting my cat, Wink, and reveling in the beautiful city of Greenville.
